Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (“Geely”) was founded in 1986 and initially started as a refrigerator parts manufacturer, and later transitioned into producing refrigerators, freezers, construction and decorative materials, and motorcycles. In 1997, Geely entered the automotive industry and has since focused our core business on the development and production of automobiles. Geely has continued to grow with a focus on continuous technological innovation, talent development, and strengthening core competitiveness, all the while staying committed to sustainable development.

Geely Holding is also the largest shareholder in Daimler AG and the second largest shareholder in Volvo AB. All brands under Geely Holding Group are actively working on plans to fully electrify their product portfolio according to respective brand positioning as part of the Group’s commitment to society.

Geely Auto employs over 20,000 designers, researchers, engineers, and technicians in R&D and design centers located around the world in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Gothenburg, Coventry, Barcelona, California, Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur. Geely has been awarded a large number of patents for its innovations. Geely operates world-class manufacturing facilities in China, the U.S., the U.K., Sweden, Belgium, Belarus, and Malaysia as well as a sales and service network with over 4,000 branches all over the world.

Geely Holding places great important in fulfilling our social responsibility. The Group actively supports education, combining practical hands-on training, classroom education, and research. Through training engineers and technicians, and establishing 10 private higher education institutions, Geely has produced over 150,000 talents. In 2016, Geely launched its “Timely Rain” targeted poverty alleviation campaign which has seen Geely invest 680 million RMB in poverty alleviation through industrial, educational, employment, and agricultural means, which has helped more than 30,000 poor families in over 20 areas across 10 provinces within China. The campaign has carried out 31 agricultural poverty alleviation projects in 20 counties and 43 villages across the country, contributing to China’s battle against poverty.

Geely Holding was announced the official prestige partner of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. Under the slogan “Enjoy E-mobility @ the Asian Games with Geely,” Geely aim to empower the Asian Games with green, intelligent, and humanistic technologies. Geely will develop a series of full autonomous mobility solutions by 2022 to service the 19th Asian Games.

Geely Holding Group has officially announced the “Geely Common Prosperity Initiative” and will work with the city of Ningbo to create the Geely Common Prosperity Pilot Zone with the goal of enhancing the prosperity and welfare of employees and their families. The initiative includes a series of measures such as family medical insurance, employee stock bonus plan and lifelong vocational education for employees.
